My Disney College Program Phone Interview
9/25/14

On the day of my first ever job interview. They called me five minutes late, so I was anxious that Disney wasn't going to call me at all. Even though I had made my phone interview appointment. A funny thing happened however, I hung up on accident before I even got to answer the phone. Because it is a private number when they call you, so you have to answer it a different way then you normally would. I was wondering if they even would call me back. Because I heard that if you don't pick up that Disney might not call you back at all. So I was super upset and worried that I ruined my chances of a life time.

My top role for the DCP would be photo-pass photographer. Because I love taking pictures of everything and I even have a youtube channel. I would also love to get further up with-in the company and one day be a casting director. So I feel as though that role in particular will give me a great opportunity. She asked me questions such as "what type of camera's do you have?" I mentioned to her that I just have a little Nikon point and shoot camera for now, but I did have other point and shoot cameras before and I'm quick at figuring out how to work new cameras. Then she asked me "how I would feel about working new camera equipment?". I replied saying like I said before- that I'm a quick learner, so it wouldn't be that difficult for me. She also asked me about attractions and how would I deal with a child that wasn't tall enough for a ride. I said I would make sure the child would stay calm and tell them that they would have a even more magical experience when they come back the next time to the parks and to that ride. So hopefully that was a good answer. I'm not sure though.

It is a funny thing though, because I put "front desk" as a (high interest) roles but she never asked me anything about that at all. But I put (costuming) as a (moderate role interest) and she asked me 1 question about it. So overall it was kind of weird how she asked about more roles then others.

I thought my first job interview I did pretty well. I got nervous at the end whenever she asked me if I had any questions for her. Which I did, however- I thought sounded a little robotic because I got nervous. I did have a few questions for her. My first question was "will their be any net-working opportunities for CP's?" She replied with "yes, their will be plenty of opportunities such as seminars and lectures". Not worded exactly like that, because I don't remember what she exactly said but basically their are net-working opportunities for College Programmers. My next question was "how will they match up roommates for the program?" She said that their will be a little questionnaire before you get to the program. So you will only have that option if you haven't joined a facebook group and talked to other CP's.

This is all I have as of now for this post, but I hope to be writing more soon.

                                            Disney College Program Phone Interview/WBI

Hello again,

Sorry I haven't posted on this blog for a long time, but I just haven't found the time. Or things I wanted to write about I thought would be boring. But just today I found out that I would be doing a phone interview for the Disney College Program on Thursday 9/25/14. I scheduled it to be around 4:15pm PST. Just so it wouldn't be to late in the evening for the Florida cast members. At least I think that's where they would be calling from. And the only other "early time" that I would find good time to have an interview at would be 12:30pm PST and I would be in the middle of a lecture college class…so that would be kind of embarrassing to have to get up and leave during class. Plus I wouldn't want to be stuck at school during the interview talking on a phone for probably 15-20 minutes just standing around the school grounds awkwardly. So I just chose a time where I knew I would be back home. But still not be to late in the evening/night.

So I'm super excited, and trying to come up with questions to ask the person that's going to interview me and look up more questions that I might be asked. Even though I watched a lot of videos on youtube already about it. I'm still doing more research! I want this interview to go well, considering I don't have a lot of "job experience" I want to sound professional and act professional. But still me at the same time, with my bubbly personality. If you get what I mean.

I seriously had to wait a whole month, hopelessly checking everyday that my "dashboard" would change. I watched vlogs on youtube about the WBI/Phone interview, and I wondered why I had to wait so long. Because I was watching vlogs and each person said that they got  the WBI/Phone interview right away. Only minutes or a hour after they applied. But that's probably because they had more "job experience" then me. Still, in the end I'm happy that I got this far in the process.

One of the questions that I plan on asking is- "if you don't have a car in Anaheim or Orlando will their be transportation for the CP's"? Hopefully I'll get more info. and let you guys know too.  I was so anxious during the WBI that I got some questions skipped, and I was so frantic after each one so I was like how many will they let me skip? I was confused because they didn't seem like it was timed, but the questions were. So that's a little tip for you guys for the WBI. However, their wasn't a timer near the questions, I guess it's just after a certain amount of time passed then they skip it.

This is getting a little long, so I think I'm going to end it here. And I'll post next week about my Phone Interview!! I'm so excited I can't stop smiling. I home phone interview goes well, and also everyone else that gets a phone interview.
Good luck everyone!
