(To Be Read) List

My November TBR

So recently I have gotten back into reading and I read #GirlBoss by Sofia Amoruso, which is her biography. And I'm planning on posting a review of her book after I post my November TBR. Let me know if you want me to post reviews of these books as well.

The first book I'm planning on reading is by James Dashner called "The Eye of Minds".  I'm almost on Chapter 3 and I only bought it on Saturday. It's a very action based novel and there is a sequel called "The Rule of Thoughts". I have been loving it so far, and might do a review of it when I'm done later on.

My last book for the next month is called "The Final Warning" by James Patterson. I have heard of the series before, and when I looked in the book store their were a ton in the series. I'm not sure how many books there are though, so let me know in the comments. But I read the summary and it drew me in. It's about these teens helping environmentalists who are studying global-warming in their world. The book sounded amazing, and I just had to get it as well. This is my November (TBR) list, let me know what your reading in the comments of this post.

How to get a Summer Job?

twitter.com/glittergirl019

In this blog post I'm going to be talking about how I got a job at Cedar Point. When I applied for jobs before, I think I applied to late (meaning the wrong time of year/season). Because if your looking for a Winter break job for something Seasonal I feel like you should be applying for jobs in the early Fall.

So what I did is for this new Summer job, I applied early February, and I got an email right away saying they are now interviewing people for jobs in the Summer. I got the email within three days as well. So as long as you apply early enough before the season starts you should be fine. Also make sure you have a good resume typed up you can google "how to make a resume".

I also tried applying for jobs in-person. If it's a smaller coffee shop or something similar then I say apply in-person because they most likely don't have a application online. And if you have an amusement park near you I suggest applying their for a summer job because those seem to be really easy to get the jobs. And finally don't forget to apply to a bunch of different places as well because you never know who will higher you!  Hope you liked this blog post!

Disney College Program: Pending Email
10/17/14

It's been only 3 weeks since my phone interview on 9/25. I also did my WBI on 9/24 and had my phone interview the next day. The waiting game was/is so hard! I checked my dashboard a lot of times during the day, but nothing. Then on 10/17/2014 I got my "Pending" email. People in the past have been saying it's a "bad thing" to be so called pended from Disney. But to me because I put a variety of roles that I'm interested in (I put about 6 or more roles). So maybe it's because they're looking for a place to actually put me in one of the parks. At least that's my thinking.  I don't have any other news about this program yet other then, I'm pended for now (it will also still say in-progress on your dashboard). But I will write more on my blog later on of what my future status will be or is then.

Thanks for reading-

Influenster Vox Box

Unboxing/Reviews Blog Post

A few weeks ago, I received my first Influenster Vox Box and this time around it's called "The Deans List". I'm very excited to receive it, because it's my first time getting something from a company! Influenster is really cool, because you sign up and on whatever platform you have. Whether it be a youtube channel, twitter, blog, anything at all. However consistent you are with your platform that's how they know when to send you something to review. Here's some pictures of what I received.

One of the first things that I took out of the box was some nail polish by Sinful Colors in the color- "No Text Red". Then I found in the box some Playtex Sport Tampons… kind of weird to put in a review box- but I guess every girl needs tampons so why not? Then I got some throat drops by the brand Luden's which they say is only found at Target! I love Target, and I go their way to much haha! Then I got some chapstick by the brand "Soft Lips Cube" and it's actually become one of my favorite lip balms or chopsticks, whichever you want to call it.

Then I got some candy by the brand Air Heads and the candy is called Bites Fruit. It reminds me a lot of skittles, but a lot more chewy and gum like then Skittles. And it's pretty yummy as well. Finally I received some false eye lashes by the brand Kiss- Look So Natural. I never where false eye lashes mostly because I don't like to. So I'm not sure what I'm going to do with them. But the rest of the items that I got were pretty great. Here's some more pictures to show you everything I was sent by Influenster!

This coming week of college is going to be absolutely crazy! May I repeat- crazy! I have 2 mid-terms in one day, that I have yet to study for my last mid-term which is History 102 and I think it's a sophomore class mostly, I don't know why I didn't just chose a History 101 or 100 class but this was the only class left that would fit in my schedule for the day, because I wanted all my classes done in one day. Not four days in the week of classes. However, I only have 2 and I feel like I'm cramming, because I'll admit it I procrastinate sometimes especially now. When I had a month to do 2 essays I waited until the last minute to write them up. But I am a rather fast writer for essays so I could get both of them done in one day but the 2nd one is not done until this coming Thursday so I'm going to wait until after this weekend to write that one.

I still haven't heard anything from Disney yet about the Disney College Program Internship, I'm still "in-progress" though so that's a good sign. I also applied for a job at my local Disney Store just for a retail job to keep me a little busy and to earn a little extra money as well. They said I was "no longer in consideration" for the Disney Store job, so maybe there's some little hope left for the DCP internship perhaps. Maybe some pixie dust and luck will be coming my way! Who knows!

I will hopefully be posting about a really cool thing called "influenster" which is a website where they send you cool samples for free. The shipping is free too! And I already got my 1st box last week and I made a youtube video about it but I haven't posted it yet, it will be up soon though. Along with a blog about it. I have a long list of stuff to do for my classes and I should go back to studying. So I'm going to end this blog for now. But I will try to post about that Influenster Vox Box next week or sometime soon! Thanks for reading!

My Disney College Program Phone Interview
9/25/14

On the day of my first ever job interview. They called me five minutes late, so I was anxious that Disney wasn't going to call me at all. Even though I had made my phone interview appointment. A funny thing happened however, I hung up on accident before I even got to answer the phone. Because it is a private number when they call you, so you have to answer it a different way then you normally would. I was wondering if they even would call me back. Because I heard that if you don't pick up that Disney might not call you back at all. So I was super upset and worried that I ruined my chances of a life time.

My top role for the DCP would be photo-pass photographer. Because I love taking pictures of everything and I even have a youtube channel. I would also love to get further up with-in the company and one day be a casting director. So I feel as though that role in particular will give me a great opportunity. She asked me questions such as "what type of camera's do you have?" I mentioned to her that I just have a little Nikon point and shoot camera for now, but I did have other point and shoot cameras before and I'm quick at figuring out how to work new cameras. Then she asked me "how I would feel about working new camera equipment?". I replied saying like I said before- that I'm a quick learner, so it wouldn't be that difficult for me. She also asked me about attractions and how would I deal with a child that wasn't tall enough for a ride. I said I would make sure the child would stay calm and tell them that they would have a even more magical experience when they come back the next time to the parks and to that ride. So hopefully that was a good answer. I'm not sure though.

It is a funny thing though, because I put "front desk" as a (high interest) roles but she never asked me anything about that at all. But I put (costuming) as a (moderate role interest) and she asked me 1 question about it. So overall it was kind of weird how she asked about more roles then others.

I thought my first job interview I did pretty well. I got nervous at the end whenever she asked me if I had any questions for her. Which I did, however- I thought sounded a little robotic because I got nervous. I did have a few questions for her. My first question was "will their be any net-working opportunities for CP's?" She replied with "yes, their will be plenty of opportunities such as seminars and lectures". Not worded exactly like that, because I don't remember what she exactly said but basically their are net-working opportunities for College Programmers. My next question was "how will they match up roommates for the program?" She said that their will be a little questionnaire before you get to the program. So you will only have that option if you haven't joined a facebook group and talked to other CP's.

This is all I have as of now for this post, but I hope to be writing more soon.

                                            Disney College Program Phone Interview/WBI
youtube.com/glitterguitargirl19

twitter.com/glittergirl019

Hello again,

Sorry I haven't posted on this blog for a long time, but I just haven't found the time. Or things I wanted to write about I thought would be boring. But just today I found out that I would be doing a phone interview for the Disney College Program on Thursday 9/25/14. I scheduled it to be around 4:15pm PST. Just so it wouldn't be to late in the evening for the Florida cast members. At least I think that's where they would be calling from. And the only other "early time" that I would find good time to have an interview at would be 12:30pm PST and I would be in the middle of a lecture college class…so that would be kind of embarrassing to have to get up and leave during class. Plus I wouldn't want to be stuck at school during the interview talking on a phone for probably 15-20 minutes just standing around the school grounds awkwardly. So I just chose a time where I knew I would be back home. But still not be to late in the evening/night.

So I'm super excited, and trying to come up with questions to ask the person that's going to interview me and look up more questions that I might be asked. Even though I watched a lot of videos on youtube already about it. I'm still doing more research! I want this interview to go well, considering I don't have a lot of "job experience" I want to sound professional and act professional. But still me at the same time, with my bubbly personality. If you get what I mean.

I seriously had to wait a whole month, hopelessly checking everyday that my "dashboard" would change. I watched vlogs on youtube about the WBI/Phone interview, and I wondered why I had to wait so long. Because I was watching vlogs and each person said that they got  the WBI/Phone interview right away. Only minutes or a hour after they applied. But that's probably because they had more "job experience" then me. Still, in the end I'm happy that I got this far in the process.

One of the questions that I plan on asking is- "if you don't have a car in Anaheim or Orlando will their be transportation for the CP's"? Hopefully I'll get more info. and let you guys know too.  I was so anxious during the WBI that I got some questions skipped, and I was so frantic after each one so I was like how many will they let me skip? I was confused because they didn't seem like it was timed, but the questions were. So that's a little tip for you guys for the WBI. However, their wasn't a timer near the questions, I guess it's just after a certain amount of time passed then they skip it.

This is getting a little long, so I think I'm going to end it here. And I'll post next week about my Phone Interview!! I'm so excited I can't stop smiling. I home phone interview goes well, and also everyone else that gets a phone interview.
Good luck everyone!

xoxo,

Stacey
